1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using the NetDevSpaces platform (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and NetDevSpaces Inc. ("NetDevSpaces", "we", "us"). We may update them from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service if you are:
- at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live;
- not barred from receiving services under applicable law;
- providing accurate, truthful information.
We may refuse access to anyone for any lawful reason.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google or GitHub account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your NetDevSpaces account. Tell us immediately at security@netdevspaces.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may not share your account, create accounts on behalf of others, or create accounts by automated means.
4. Permitted use
NetDevSpaces is an education platform. You may use the Service to:
- read lessons and take quizzes;
- download and complete labs;
- earn certificates;
- register for and take part in hackathons.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- submit work that is fraudulent, plagiarised or not your own, including in hackathons;
- share quiz answers or redistribute lab files outside the platform;
- harass, threaten or abuse other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or its infrastructure;
- scrape or extract data from the Service by automated means without our written consent;
- interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
Violations may lead to immediate suspension or termination of your account.
6. User content
You keep ownership of content you submit (such as hackathon write-ups and repository links). By submitting it, you grant NetDevSpaces a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store and display it solely to operate the Service.
You confirm that you have the rights to submit that content and that it does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property. Your code repositories remain under whatever licence you choose.
7. Hackathon rules
Each hackathon publishes its own rules, which form part of these Terms. By registering, you agree to them. In addition:
- submissions must be your own original work, completed during the event;
- open-source libraries and tools are allowed unless an event says otherwise;
- judges' decisions on prizes are final;
- we may disqualify any submission that breaks these Terms or the event rules.
8. Intellectual property
The NetDevSpaces name, logo, platform design, lessons, diagrams, quizzes, labs and related materials belong to NetDevSpaces Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from them without our written permission.
Cisco, AWS, Microsoft, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and other product names and logos shown on the site belong to their respective owners. NetDevSpaces is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
9. Certificates and disclaimer of warranties
NetDevSpaces certificates confirm that you completed a path on our platform. They are not official vendor certifications (such as Cisco CCNA or AWS certifications).
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee any employment outcome, certification result or career advancement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NetDevSpaces is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to privacy@netdevspaces.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we determine that you have violated these Terms or that your access poses a risk to the platform or other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you, unless doing so would compromise security or an investigation.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Québec.
